Leírás
Images, myths and their representation in narrative patterns are archetypical elements of culture, let it be ancient, modern, or post-postmodern. The organising principle of the volume is the correspondence between these three concepts. The studies analyse the different aspects of myths, images and narratives in various literary and other cultural works. Due to the diversity of historical periods, authors, and cultural phenomena, the volume Myth, Image, Narrative: Critical Studies presents an overarching image of research in English studies carried out by scholars in Hungary. Both experienced authors and young researchers contributed to this collection of essays. The volume follows the chronological order of the cultural-historical periods and includes studies on art, literature, history, linguistics and translation theory. The collection will be of interest to students and scholars alike in fields including literary criticism, cultural studies, history and linguistics.
